Available Fee Structures

Flat Fees

I charge a flat fee for most of my services.  For those items, I require an upfront retainer equal to one-half of the fee.  The balance is payable upon completion of the matter.  Clients will receive a final invoice at our matter wrap-up meeting or teleconference.

State and Public Employees

I am a participating attorney in the ASEA Legal Services Trust Plan and the APEA/AFT Legal Trust Benefits Plan.  For clients using one of those valuable benefits, my fees are charged at an hourly rate in accordance with the applicable benefit plan booklet.

Hourly Rate

The nature, complexity, and uniqueness of some matters are better suited for an hourly rate.  My normal rate is $215.00 per hour.  I charge a higher rate for those clients requesting legal services on an expedited schedule.  For hourly matters, I require a deposit of $2,000.00 into my firm's trust account as an initial retainer before beginning any work.  Clients will receive a monthly invoice showing services provided and charges against the retainer.  When the retainer balance reaches $200.00, I will ask clients to replenish the funds to an agreed upon amount.  Any balance remaining in the trust account after completion of the matter are returned to the client.
